Gone, but not forgotten

Ok, so the title of this post makes it seem scarier than it is. I have been gone, but this site has not been forgotten. My original idea was to share about Kaylee and her kidney. Both to help myself process it as well as give others who may be in the similar situation a look at what's to come. But fortunately, there has not been much to post in the kidney world. So, I guess no news from here is good news! Kaylee is doing remarkably well. She had her annual check up and the doctor said all looks well. Her ultrasound also looked great. It is just so nice not to have to worry about her. She is doing so well and at 16 months, is heading full on into Toddler hood. She adores her big brother and sister and is often caught attempting their latest feat. Someone asked me how many words were in her vocabulary and all I could think of was, all of them. If she doesn't know a word she waits until you tell her it and then that's it. She knows it. She repeats anything we say.. good or bad!

Abby is loving her first year of school. Kindergarten is a blast and she was blessed with two wonderful teachers that have really helped her transition into full time school. We just got back her first report card and couldn't be prouder! I love her enthusiasm for school and work in general. She is not content to just sit around watching TV or playing games. She wants to be hands on no matter what it is. I am loving watching her grow!

Jonah is now in second grade and has found a new passion. Drawing. He draws day and night. If it is made of paper, he's drawing on it. He comes up with caricatures of people in his life and they make it into his comic strips. I never expected this from him, but I have a feeling this will be part of his future.

Kenny and I are just trying to do the best by our children. Give them the tools they need in life and hopefully have a little fun along the way.
