A few of my favorite things.

This post combines a few of my favorite things. Photography and Free Stuff. Shutterfly is offering free Christmas Cards for those who blog about them. NO PROBLEM! I love their cards anyway and always look forward to taking a new Christmas Card photo. I have already done two different shoots with the kids this year to get the perfect picture. For some reason it is always much harder for me to get decent pics of my own kids. This year I decided to check out Shutterfly's card design before I took the photo. It was nice to already have the specs in mind before I shot. Not that any of that matters when taking photos of a 16 month old! We spent the entire time with the big kids running over to where she was a quickly posing next to her. It was quite adorable. It was so funny to watch them run and jump right next to her and smile real quick. Not sure yet if we'll need a third shoot!! This year, Shuttlerfly has cards available with just a full photo on a folded card. That way I can use my own design if I'd like. It's just nice to have some room to play!
If you want to, check out their Christmas cards and Photo Cards. Of course I can't forget the Calendar I make for my mom every year or the Birthday Cards I've made for the kids. Ok, I think I'm a tad obsessed. :) I just truly like to add photos to things I use often. I made an address book with one of my favorite pictures, and now I get the warm and fuzzies every time I use it. I also made three separate Valentine's Day Cards for Kenny with the kid's pictures on them. They were $1.04 each! Much better than a $4 Halmark card!! One nice mommy tip is to scan all your child's artwork and turn it into a photo book. I did this in the past with Jonah's Kindergarten work. Plan on doing it this year for Abby. It's much easier than keeping stacks of paper, and the kids love having their own book.
Any who, check out Shutterfly for all of your photo needs. And, I'm not just saying that because they are going to give me free cards, I really do use them and enjoy their products.
Check your mailbox for my Christmas Card shortly. If I don't have your address, send it to me!!!

  2. What a great idea about scanning the school work. I still have a couple of boxes of Carrie's stuff. Maybe I should scan it and give it to her for her birthday! LOL.
