And....Cut!

And... Cut!
ok, bad pun. But I've been up for a LONG time!
Kaylee's surgery went well. The Dr. who preformed it has probably done this procedure more than anyone (he's a bit older) and said this was the largest kidney he has ever seen. It also was larger than the ultrasound showed as part of it was hiding behind her liver. To get it out, he removed 100ccs of fluid and there was still another 100 ccs still in the kidney. Now, I have no idea what 100ccs means... but the Dr. who told us about it seemed quite impressed. He said we now have "bragging rights." I feel she deserves a medal.
And now, I know what you've been waiting for.....Kaylee pics! (click on picture to make larger)

Blue eyed beauty (as her Dr. referred to her... we like him!)
All babies in this hospital look like little boys! Little boys with pants that are way too big!

Jonah and his dalmation Pongo -- HI JONAH

Sore little baby

Kaylee is doing well. The challenges now are:
- Pain control. They only can give her Tylenol because of her age. She had an epidural, but it is wearing off.
-Blood Pressure issues. Her blood pressure has been really low and the monitor keeps beeping!! So, they come in and mess with her lines and get her all upset and her blood pressure goes really high. i think she just likes messing with them!
- Nursing. Quite interesting challenge. Kaylee is on bed rest and I have to nurse her while she is in the crib. I tell ya, if I was an inch shorter or a cup size smaller... Kaylee would starve!
Thank you for all the nice comments and for the prayers.
With Love,
the munyons

Post Script (thanks Heather)
I'll soon post the Photo Essay I have been working on entitled, "Miniaturized Things You Find at a Children's Hospital"
