My Blankie and Me...

One of the many blessings to come from Kaylee's Kidney was the love shown to us by so many people. Or, as Kenny put it, "People all over the world and Canada are praying for her." Not sure how the Canadians are taking to that!
One sweet group of ladies really touched us. A church group from Missouri (I believe) heard about Kaylee and put her on their prayer list. They made Kaylee a prayer blanket and me a prayer shawl. As they made the blanket, they prayed especially for Kaylee and sent the blanket and shawl to us with a card. The card has a sweet poem and an inscription that says,

"May you gently wrap this blanket around you, may you be surrounded by its love, enfolded by its prayers, embraced by its warmth, and cradled in its softness."
Handmade especially for you with love and prayers from Holy Trinity Church.

The blanket alone is beautiful, but knowing the meaning behind it makes it a treasure. At night when we lay Kaylee in her crib, the blanket reminds us to continue to pray for our children as well as thank God for their health. The shawl is the perfect size to snuggle Kaylee up in during our late night feedings. Someday I look forward to telling Kaylee the meaning behind her blanket and she'll know that God's love stretches far.
If any of the ladies from the Blanket Ministry happen upon this blog, I want to tell you thank you for your kindness. What you do does make a difference and brings comfort.
