News at 11, I think it was 11....

Kaylee had her two month check up today. Her Dr. just loves her! Kaylee gets lots of kisses! Kaylee weighed in at 11 pounds.. oh wait.. was it 13? Ugh, I forgot.. it was either 11 or 13 pounds. I'll have to go find a scale to weigh her. Either way, she is 23.5 inches long. Last month she was 10 pounds 21 inches. I'm not used to having growing babies! Abby and Jonah both had failure to thrive around this stage, so it is a shock for me that Kaylee is outgrowing clothes. Good job Kaylee! She is however having some issues with head control. The Dr is going to give her another month and then if need be start physical therapy. Her reflexes and tracking are really good, so it's a muscle thing, not neurological. She said it happens to babies who have surgery because they learn to prevent themselves from moving due to the pain, so they need a bit extra encouragement to go at it on their own. Kaylee can already put her thumb in her mouth and console herself, which is really good for her age, she just wants mommy to move her around!
She had to have her vaccinations today. This was hardest on Jonah. He asked if he could go in another room so he wouldn't have to hear her cry. After she was done, I went and got him and he was curled up on the chair with his fingers in his ears and a tear running down his face. He's such a loving little guy. To make her feel better, he suggested that she get to watch Indiana Jones, nice try.
All in all it was a great appointment. She is really a different baby since the kidney was out. The nurse was shocked at how well she looked. Last time she had seen her she said Kaylee looked so frail to her. Now she's my little chunky monkey!
We have another ultrasound and appointment with the surgeon in two months and then we're that much closer to this all being behind us!!
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.. stay tuned!

UPDATE: Kaylee has had a hard time with these shots. About 4 hours after she got them, she started screaming a real 'in pain' scream. She was very stiff and we couldn't calm her. We called her Dr. who told us to ice it (which we were already doing) and give her Tylenol (which she had told us earlier not to do). She wants to try not to give her too much medication to keep her system clear and her kidney working. But, Kaylee was just in so much pain we needed to do it. Right now she is resting comfortably as I spent the last few hours holding her in the only position that felt good to her. If I moved an inch she cried. Let's hope she feels better in the morning.
