I just celebrated my birthday last week. We had a blast. Went to Bob's Big Boy and Kenny got me my dream car...1955 Chevy Bel Air 4 door. I know the 2 doors are supposed to be cooler, but hey let's face it, this care is going to the grocery store, school pick up, dance class etc. I need my doors!! :) It is still a work in progress, but we will have fun getting it there.
I turned the big 3-2 which puts me nicely into my 30s. I remember the night before I turned 30 I was so depressed thinking that was the end of an era so to speak and I'm not really part of the youth anymore. Kenny said, "what are you talking about, I've been dreaming about my 30s for my entire life." He told me that the 30s are when the kids are at the perfect age. that's when you go visit the grand canyon and take camping trips. Laugh at the dining room table together, that's when you go to recitals and school functions. This is the time the kids still want you to walk bring them to school and still think you are the coolest. I am so excited for this decade of our lives and it also made me excited for the decade to follow as our children turn into teenagers and become more independent and then when they began to tackle the world on their own and we get to see all the work we've invested in them pays off. It made me appreciate the stage of life I am in as well as anticipate the years to follow. I'm learning to be happy where I am. Life is made up of phases and if things seem down now, there's always a chance for it to get better. Boy that's one smart guy I married!!
Boy, I agree! What a great attitude. Now I need one for turning 65! That's when you are officially an old f*rt.
