To Pee or Not to Pee...UPDATE

So, Kaylee's diapers have been VERY dry the last couple of days. In fact, I have to REALLY examine the diaper to see if she has even gone at all. She also had a low grade (99.8) fever on Saturday night. She's eating a bunch so I'm afraid this may be a UTI or something else going on. I'm going to call Kaylee's Urologist today and I'll post what I find out later.

Since we've known about the kidney I always said, "as soon as the kidney is out, she'll live a nice healthy life." Which she will!! But, I never expected my 'mommy nerves' to get worse not better. I guess I should have known. When I was pregnant with Jonah I used to think,

...as soon as I'm past 35 weeks, I won't have to worry so much

then

...as soon as he's born, I won't have to worry so much

then

...as soon as he's past SIDS age, I won't have to worry so much

then

...as soon as he can be a bit more independent at school, I won't have to worry so much

Lord help me when they start driving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: By 4 pm yesterday, we still only had 3 VERY light diapers and 1 that was almost decent. I called the ped who said she should have 6-8 and that she's not going enough. She said she needed more fluids.. which I kinda figured. I had increased her feedings and she still wasn't going. The Dr. told me that it was I that needed more fluid. She told me to go get some Gatorade and make sure I'm drinking enough for me and her. It's been a pretty stressful week and I haven't really taken the time to eat or drink properly. I didn't realize how much that effected the baby. I nursed extra long last night and gave her a bottle of formula for good measure. It's 5 am now and she just woke up. She had a wet diaper - a bit on the lower side fluid wise.. but decent. I'll keep pushing the fluids!!

  1. Kelly, you're so right. I used to think all those same things too, but it never ends. More things just pop up to worry about. I heard someone once say that "Having kids is like having your heart go walking around outside of you." So scary.

I hope you get a nicely soaked one soon...diaper that is. :)

  2. It never ends! My baby will soon turn 40 and I still worry about her every day! Sorry to have to tell you that, but on some level you had to know that! :-)
