The greatest achievement for mom and baby is when the child discovers their thumb.
Kaylee can comfort herself now. Sigh.
Neither Abby nor Jonah ever sucked their thumbs as babies. Abby started sucking her thumb one day when she was four years old. She discovered it and liked it. Other mothers gave me advice to get her to stop.
"Tell her, big girls don't suck their thumbs, or
you can't go to school if you suck your thumb"
"Try hot sauce on it"

Me? Well, I just told her, "Abby, you know what happens when you suck on a lollipop...it disappears:" She never sucked it again.

ReplyDeleteI loved that Lauren & Sadie were thumb suckers. They stopped doing it when they got teeth...I think thumb suckers are so cute!
